Safety expert Steve Frosdick quit Uefa role after ‘raising concerns’ about Zeljko Pavlica’s leadership

A British safety and security expert resigned from his role at Uefa this year after claims that he raised serious concerns about the direction of the department since Zeljko Pavlica, the best friend of Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin, took charge.

Steve Frosdick had been employed by European football’s governing body for 11 years to support the safety and security team, having originally been a Metropolitan Police officer, but quit in February.

The Sunday Times revealed this week that Pavlica was appointed to a permanent position at Uefa two months after his fellow Slovenian Ceferin, who was best man at his wedding, was elected president.
